Everything has to start somewhere right?
This is the place to start. Shitty first draft.
Every perennial art starts with it.
Every legendary artist does it.
The first draft is the child’s draft, where you let it all pour out and then let it romp all over the place, knowing that no one is going to see it and that you can shape it later. You just let this childlike part of you channel whatever voices and visions come through and onto the page.
It’s what I’m doing now. I’m writing without caring. Putting everything, just moving my fingers.
And I’m looking and expecting this first draft to be shitty. I will be happy if I see shit.
Nobody will see my work anyway.
Creative work in today’s world is mentally challenging. With all the harsh critiques and such.
A shitty first draft is how we fight those challenges. It made us back in the creator mode.
When the first draft is done. Our job is only getting easier, and it’s a great feeling to see that we have progressed. That’s why this is super important.
So, whatever you want to create. Do, it now. Don’t worry, because a shitty first draft is what you are looking for.
